Shellie Black is not your typical entrepreneur. For nearly a decade, Shellie had been making and using her own face cream, because, in her words, “I couldn’t find anything out there that was 100% pure and natural to put on my face. Everything I found had binders, fillers, preservatives and chemicals that I didn’t want touching my skin. So, I just started researching and experimenting with different all-natural ingredients and created an anti-aging night cream that worked for me.”
But in the process, just about everyone who met Shellie – who is now 59 year-old “Gigi” to her 7 (soon to be 8) grandkids, would walk right up to her and say, “Your skin is so beautiful! What kind of face cream are you using?” Shellie would simply say, “Oh, I make my own.” Then, she would inevitably be asked if she could make some for them!
For years, Shellie would literally cook up a batch of her face cream in her kitchen and then she’d go deliver it to an ever-growing population of women – and in some cases men, who’d requested it. But eventually, the burden and expense of “keeping these new friends supplied with product” became overwhelming. The demand for the product continued to increase – simply because it flat-out worked! But something had to change, because in Shellie’s words, “I just couldn’t keep up!”
Eventually, Shellie decided to start charging people for her face cream and she was thrown into the world of entrepreneurship! Now, Shellie is the President and CEO of Shellie Ann Naturals. And her original cream – now called, “Lunere – Anti-aging Night Balm” is quickly becoming one of the hottest selling products on social media.
